Psalm 34:1

Last week was Thanksgiving and we had started getting prepared with Thanksgiving Woes.  This blog entry described what to do when possibly confronted with old family/friends that bring to mind hurts and grudges.  Now that Thanksgiving is over and we are getting back into our regular routine I wanted to encourage us to continue living in a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving.  Living in a spirit of gratitude, faith and thanksgiving is the goal of Christ followers.

Throughout the preceding months to Thanksgiving the following verse has been imprinted on my mind:

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
                                                                                           Psalm 34:1 (KJV)

What we focus on doing one day of the year (or more honestly part of that one day a year) we are to do every day.  Christ followers are to exhibit a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving to God.

So how do we DO this?  How do we continuously bless and praise God's name?  I have a few suggestions and would love to hear what your suggestions would be also!

PRAY
Ask God to help you follow Psalm 34:1!

HABIT
Practice!  Find a way to practice the concepts of thanksgiving and praise in your everyday life (i.e. write down 5 things you are thankful for each day).

OTHERS
People rub off!  Do you know anyone that lives this out in their everyday life?  If so let these people influence you with their perspective and the everyday language they use.

MUSIC/MEDIA
Wanting to change your perspective to one that is praising God?  Listen to music, read blogs, tweets, etc. that glorify God!

TESTIMONY
Write out your own testimony.  Practice telling your own story and be able to say it in 3 - 5 minutes.  Be ready when that door opens for you to tell your own story of how you started a relationship with Christ and were saved!

What suggestions do you have?
