Anxiety & Easter
What does Easter mean to you?
For some it means egg hunts, chocolate, the day they go to church, a new outfit, or it could possibly mean nothing at all to you.
Sunday, April 24th will be Easter and it is a day that Christ followers celebrate what Christ did for everyone. There is a beautiful gift, an amazing opportunity, and an incredible sense of purpose and hope one receives through this gift. We would love for you to come to our Easter Celebration at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC.
Even if Easter means nothing to you I believe you will still enjoy this celebration so please come!
For me Easter means many things (going back to that beautiful gift, an amazing opportunity and incredible sense of purpose and hope). Although, recently I thought of something else it meant for me and for other Christ followers. Have you ever heard someone say any of the following?
*I just do not want to make the wrong choice!
*Hindsight is 20/20...
*What if I have missed what I was supposed to do with my life!
I have heard so many people worry about various paths they could take in life (or ones they wish they had or had not took in life). Some of this though, comes out of my own mouth too. I was recently praying and pondering over a few different directions to take in life and I could feel anxiety taking hold of me (for me I get a lump in my throat). As I was praying something came to me:
Whatever happens, whatever choice is made, whatever direction is chose God can redeem. Even if years from now I see that I wish I had took another direction (the lovely gift of "hindsight") I knew I would also see something else. Redemption. God can and does REDIRECT, REUSE and RESTORES. This is what the life of a Christ follower is all about. This is also what the gift of Easter is about!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
So, what does Easter mean to you?
