Spiritual Mentoring: Guest Post

Below is a guest post from our Spiritual Mentoring leader Curtis Preik. This will give you some of the information that will be shared during our next Spiritual Mentoring seminar.
We hope to see you there!

Things We Believe . . . About People

People were created by God after God's own spiritual image. People are the highest work of God's creation. Being made in the image of God, people have enormous potential for good, but have freely chosen to disobey God and go against God's will for their life. This disobedience and rebellion is called sin, and is an attitude and lifestyle that separates people from God. All individuals suffer from this corruption and are in need of the saving grace of God. People were created to exist forever. They will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. Death seals the eternal destiny of each person. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

What would it be like to have no shame or regrets, to have nothing to hide? To be innocent like Adam and Eve after their creation in the Garden of Eden?

What would it mean for our families, churches, communities, and nations if it were possible to return to this innocence once again?

What is the primary hurdle preventing us from healing broken relationships?

How do we get beyond this hurdle?
